In the 20th Century church, the primary aim of the Sunday School was not so much educational as it was evangelistic. Our Pentecostal church emphasized the importance of Sunday bible study for children with the motto that a child saved is a soul saved plus a life. H. M Tarrill of Tennessee, the superintendent of the Methodist Episcopal Sunday School, wrote God permits us to encompass the child with great forces that center in and about the Sabbath School in order that we may win souls of the children.
As our churches continue to evolve, one might consider the ageless institution of the Sunday School as priceless. According to John H.
