What is outreach?

One definition of “outreach” is:  ”The process of taking the Christian message to people who are not Christians, usually with the connotation of doing so through servant-evangelism-like activities.”

Why is outreach important?

In the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20a), Jesus tells us to “…go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”

Where are we to reach people for Christ?

The answer is simple.  Jesus told His disciples “…you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”  In other words, everywhere–from your neighborhood to the farthest reaches of the earth!

Here, at Divine Favour Ministries  we are committed to reaching everyone we can for Christ.  As a growing ministry we have several areas of focus. Two are our International and Domestic Outreach programs. We start with  ”inreach” by nurturing and building our Divine Favour family then we minister to the  surrounding communities.

In addition, we are always looking for opportunities to reach beyond our own community and communicate the message of the gospel through other activities.  One way we are reaching people is through day mission trips to A. G. Rhodes Rehabilitation Center and their staff.

We are also active supporters of Kiva.  Divine Favour Ministries actively supports families/Entrepreneurs  in economically challenged nations. We focus  on women who are the sole providers of their families. Many have lost their spouse to HIV/Aids and are now faced with the responsibility of providing income so their children will not starve.

Divine Favour is a 501-C-3 organization  in good standing with strategic plans to provide low income housing for families and transitional housing for female U.S. Veterans.  At current, we are developing  funding to renovate abandoned homes so we can assist in  ending the plight of homelessness.  According to according to Department of Defense statistics, approximately 7,500 women served on active military duty in Vietnam. The Veteran’s Administration puts the numbers even higher, at around 11,000. Independent surveys estimate that the number of women, both civilian and non-civilian, working in Vietnam during the war is between 33,000 and 55,000 (Marshall 4-5).

As more women serve in combat zones, the share of female veterans who end up homeless, while still relatively small at an estimated 6,500, has nearly doubled over the last decade, according to the Department of Veterans Affairs.  That unfortunate statistic acts as a motivator for Divine Favour Ministries to open the doors of Safe Haven Transitional Homes for female vets.

Outreach is imperative to the growth of churches and evangelizing the world. Please view our sub-pages regarding outreach and considering donating or adding Divine Favour to you planned giving strategy.[ad#adbrite-1]
